The boxes, typically installed at a burn down station or hospital, are devices people can use to surrender their babies. Once they open up the box, it triggers an warning alerting personnel that a baby needs to be picked upwards. The box has cooling and heating features to keep the kid safe until someone arrives within less than iii minutes.

She added that there are no cameras around the box, so there's no fear of being recorded.

The baby boxes launched in Indiana in 2016, and according to Kelsey the country has had nix babies die from abandonment since then.
